SLX Satellite Finder
Installing a satellite can be tricky, especially when adjusting the positioning of the dish. By using a satellite finder, you can fine-tune the position of the dish in order to receive the best possible signal.

Worked Perfectly
"Was a bit concerned about trying this due to the negative reviews, but it worked perfectly. Used a website to work out rough direction to point the dish in and this tool ensured the small adjustments were made correctly.
You do need the connectors and a short length of cable so this sits between the dish and the receiver, but it took a couple of minutes to mount the dish, tweak it following the simple instructions and we were set to go. Brilliant."

"Didn't do anything the instructions stated. Required an additional connector, which wasn't supplied. Had to turn the 'Level Control' to Maximum to get to the 5 level required by which time the sound was so piercing I couldn't go anywhere near it. I should have read the other reviews before buying but I was struggling so much with trying to get a signal I was desperate. This piece of equipment only made things worse. Avoid like the plague."

"Bought the HD Satellite Kit and Satellite Finder from the Worthing B & Q. The system worked, but although the signal level was 99% the quality was far below 50% for many of the channels, with picture break-up. The Satellite Finder was useless, the meter level could not be brought down from the maximum with either control. This was because the supplied LNB had a gain of 65dB, more than the 60dB maximum the Finder could cope with. According to the Finder user guide a 5dB satellite attenuator is required. Apparently B & Q do not stock this item. Replaced the LNB with an old Sky one, could then use the Finder AND the signal quality was about 60% for, it seems, all channels. It seems that B & Q should not be selling that Satellite Finder model, and the LNB in the kit was faulty (noisy). Why do I have so much trouble with B&Q products?"

Does exactly what it says on the tin.
"Works great as long as you follow the instructions properly, I suspect previous reviewers that couldn't get it to work were putting the tester near the dish and not the Sky box."

"I should have read the reviews before buying. You have to go out again and buy an F connector lead (a TV type coax lead with screw connectors) and then when you plug the thing in it either does nothing or beeps all the time, whether you're pointing the sat dish in the right direction or not. I eventually found the satellite myself by trial and error and hours of patience. The finder helped not at all and the instructions and website weren't much help either."

"I did not like this product at all, it beeped all the time as soon as it was connected, even though the dish was no where near a satellite. A wast of money, I found the satellite just by moving the dish slowly till the picture was found and then tweaked to perfection... not needed, rubbish, wast of time, don't buy it."
