Utterly beautiful
"I have just had this installed in my new bathroom, it glides beautifully. I was rather concerned reading the other reviews so am taking steps to obtain a replacement seal and instructions to fit it, but it is SO beautiful you can see the white 'brick work' tiles through it and it doesn't 'intrude' like some of the other folding screens.
I had originally bought a traditional single flat bath screen with the usual 'falling off' seal - my experience is that they all get brittle with time and use - which just didn't fit in, it was so conspicuous. This is so much better I love the way it moves so smoothly and I love the way it folds so neatly - Please stock replacement seals B and Q."

A white elephant
"Installed this as part of a complete bathroom refurb in the summer of 2009. Leakage was always a bit of a problem but some months ago it became serious. What we didn't realise until too late is that some of the water got under the bath and into the ceiling below, leaving nasty brown patches. That meant the shower has had to be taken out of use for the past many months.
Reason for lateness of this review is that plumber is now trying to fix the leak and discovered that the whole of the main bottom rubber seal has completely deteriorated - it had become brittle and full of holes so that it crumbled into pieces when removed. He said: "That's not right; there is no way that should happen, especially to a screen that cost as much as this one did". Enough said."

worst ever purchase
"Pain in the backside to fit instructions were unclear, screws supplied to fit screen to wall were not long enough causing the screen to drop and scrape the brand new bath. After plumber lengthened the screws it did fit but was still too low but there was nothing that could be done. Used the shower for the first time and it leaked water all over the floor forcing me to return the screen."
Response from B&Q:By AlexDIY.com19/06/2012
Hi annoyedmother,

Thanks for your feedback and sorry you (and others) have had a bad experience with this product. We've contacted our supplier and they asked us to forward the following reply:

“We are sorry to hear that you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase of a B&Q bath screen. When installing the bath screen it is important to ensure the wall channel is fitted upright (plumb) and that the bath screen has been adjusted correctly so that it sits fully on the bath and the lower seals are slightly compressed. It is also important to closely follow the installation instructions to ensure a correct fit and the appropriate use of silicone sealant. If you require any further assistance please contact our helpline: 0870 241 6131”.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Alex

The rubber will perish after 18 months
"I bought this 18 months ago, it's a lovely shower door and does what it says - looks fab, cleans easily.
However after 18 months the rubber seal across the bottom has perished beyond use. It now leaks water all over my bathroom floor, unless I find a way to stuff towels down the side.
B&Q won't fix it, neither will Aqualux (the actual manufacturer of this product.).
So if you want to replace the rubber seal every 18 months - which will cost you approx £15 - go ahead and buy this shower door!"

"This screen looks good, but then again it is expensive. The fitting instructions are poor. It calls for zero degree tolerance for verticle and horizontal plains, but also (on the box) informs you that there is a 15mm adjustment. The instructions do not show you how!!. Also the fixing screws (to hold shower into wall frame) were the incorrect size for drill supplied. Also the screw caps were slightly to large and had to be glued into the frame rather than a push fit. For such an expensive item I would expect better."
